About
I am a former English teacher turned marketing professional, web developer, and web designer. The term “marketing professional” can be loosely applied, since even in that capacity, the bulk of my work is customer-facing web development and web copy.
This blog is primarily about web development, with bits about technology. I make no claim to being an incredible software engineer, but my long history in education helped me discover that I myself learn the most during the sharing phase. To that end, I hope to provide some tutorials for things I consider myself proficient at (CSS) as well as those which I’m learning more about every day (JavaScript, PHP, JSP).
The blog is also about committing—at least for a while!—to a blank-slate WordPress theme called the Roots WordPress Theme which is itself based on the wonderful HTML5 Boilerplate. Join me as I slowly…very slowly…tweak things on the blog and share my insights.
